ABOUT PROTECTIVE FACTORS GROUP
Our story begins with a simple observation, and a belief that resilience can be built before crisis ever arrives.
Too many people receive treatment only after life has already fallen apart. By the time care arrives, the damage is done.
The system waits until marriages are failing. Until children are acting out. Until anxiety becomes debilitating. Until trauma has rewritten someone's identity. Until depression steals years from a person's life. It reacts, it does not prevent. We believe it should be the other way around.
We believe mental healthcare should prevent collapse, not simply respond to it.
Protective Factors Group was founded on the belief that resilience can be intentionally built before crisis occurs. Research consistently shows that strong protective factors dramatically reduce the impact of trauma, adversity, mental illness, substance use, and suicide risk.
So instead of asking,
“What's wrong with you?”
we ask,
“What strengths can we build that make healing sustainable?”
OUR MISSION
To strengthen the protective factors that allow individuals, families, and communities to flourish, through compassionate, evidence-based behavioral healthcare that restores hope, resilience, and purpose.
OUR VISION
To become the nation's most trusted behavioral health organization for resilience-focused care. A future where mental healthcare is proactive instead of reactive.
WHAT MAKES PFG DIFFERENT
Most organizations measure success by the number of appointments completed.
We measure success by lives transformed.
Most therapy practices focus on reducing symptoms.
We focus on increasing resilience.
Most providers ask people to adapt to the healthcare system.
We design systems that adapt to people.
We integrate clinical excellence with genuine human connection. Our clinicians don't simply follow treatment plans, they build relationships, teach skills, strengthen families, and help people reclaim identities that trauma tried to steal.
Our work extends beyond the therapy room. We collaborate with hospitals, physicians, schools, employers, community organizations, and health plans, because mental health does not exist in isolation.
Everything we build is designed around one question:
“Will this create lasting protection against future adversity?”
If the answer is no, we keep building.
WHY PFG EXISTS
People rarely remember the diagnosis. They remember who helped them believe they could become whole again.
That is why we exist, not simply to provide therapy, but to build stronger people, stronger families, and stronger communities.
